I’m currently digging into another round of revisions for Volume Five: STILL LIFE. Can’t believe the series is nearly done…but also really (really REALLY) looking forward to what comes next. More on that in the near future, I promise.
I have not read the book yet.I have read the shadows,spellbound,and the second spy.I am just like Olive.I am 11 years old and I am going into 6th grade.I don’t have many friends and when I do,I have to leave them because I keep on moving.I am very shy although rather creative.I also can be very adventurous as well.I like reading your books not only because they are interesting, but because it is about a girl like me.Olive:)

Hi Hannah,
Thank you so much for sharing this. When I started writing The Books of Elsewhere, I hoped that they would find their way to readers just like you. Olive would be delighted to know that people like you are on her side.
I was a shy kid myself (I suppose I still am, really; I’m just a larger version), and I found many of my best friends in books. Finding real life friends got easier with time, but I know that many of the characters I grew up with have become a permanent part of me. If you love books, you’re never really alone.
Here’s hoping that your 6th grade year starts on a much better note than Olive’s! I’ll be thinking of you.

Hi Taynia — STILL LIFE will be out next summer, probably in July. I’ll keep everyone posted on dates when I hear them.
